Consider the poem we read in class today -- "Deserted Farm" by Mark Vinz -- and explore one of these ideas. Your response must be at least 250 words long and be thoughtful and well organized and follow the formatting guidelines. Please save the document in your online "Writer's Notebook" and print a copy to turn in, as well.
1) Write about a change or loss you have experienced and how it affected your life. It could be losing a crucial ball game or the death of a friend or relative, for instance.
2) Change can bring opportunities as well as setbacks. Moving to a new city, for instance, can bring exciting new surroundings and new friends, but also the sadness of leaving old friends and comfortable surroundings. Write about some of the opportunities that have come to you because of change.
3) Can you think of a change you would like to see in yourself? What's stopping you? What obstacles do you face?
