Example:

For my independent reading book, I chose to read "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins.  The back of the book says it is about children fighting for their lives in a dystopian society.  This is good for me because I like books with action and people who live in a world that is different from ours.  The back of the book also says that the protagonist of the book is a girland it has been a long time since I read a book with a female protagonist.  Based on what the back of the book says and what I know about the story, I think this will be a good IRP book for me this session. (117 words)

Week 5 Question: What morals or lessons do you think the author intends his/her reader to find in this book? (200 words)

Tuesday, October 1, 2013

HW for Tuesday, 10/1

Read your IRP book.
This is week 5 of the session.  Remember the calculation you did a few weeks ago?  Divide the number of pages in your book by 6.  Now multiply that number by 5.  For instance, if I picked a 600 page book . . . 600/6=100 . . . 100 x 5 = 500.  That means I should be at around page 500 by now.  Are you where you should be?

This is also a good night to do make up work.
