HW for Friday, 9/13

Read your IRP book.
Divide the number of pages you have left to read by 6 (you should finish your book in 5 more weeks, at the most) -- did you read enough this first week?

For instance, If I'm reading a 600 page book, I need to read 100 pages/week.  If I've only read 50 pages so far, I need to read at least 50 more pages this weekend.

Example:

For my independent reading book, I chose to read "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins.  The back of the book says it is about children fighting for their lives in a dystopian society.  This is good for me because I like books with action and people who live in a world that is different from ours.  The back of the book also says that the protagonist of the book is a girl, and it has been a long time since I read a book with a female protagonist.  Based on what the back of the book says and what I know about the story, I think this will be a good IRP book for me this session. (117 words)

2) Bring your independent reading book to class on Monday.

3) Complete the Reading Questionnaire.  Click here if you need a copy.
